Portland Trailblazers player Damian Lillard took 30 children from the Portland Boys and Girls Club on a shopping spree to a local Toys 'R Us store last night.
According to The Oregonian, the boys and girls were loaded onto a school bus, but had no idea where they were going. After the bus began its trip, the kids were told they were each getting a $100 Toys 'R Us gift card from Lillard.
The bus arrived at a Toys 'R Us in Janzen Beach, located in Portland, where Lillard was waiting for them.
"The smiles on their faces, that is everything to me," Lillard told KOIN 6 News.
Lillard helped the children shop and showed the kids his favorite toys as a child: figures of professional wrestlers.
Lillard's mother Gina Johnson added, "He's wandering through the store, he's bouncing balls. I'm surprised he hasn't pulled a bike down. It'll be the best Christmas for him yet because he gave back."
In addition to buying toys for themselves, the children were told to also pick out gifts for their family members.
