Photos: Baylor Will Wear Shiny Lime Green Uniforms During the Big 12, NCAA Tournaments

Publish date:

Baylor’s Big 12 Tournament showdown versus Kansas on March 8 would have been interesting no matter what, but the good folks at Adidas have found a way to spruce the proceedings up even more. On Thursday, the once seemingly Final Four-bound Bears will trot out to stake their claim to victory in a lime green adizero basketball uniform.

Yup, lime green.

What is an adizero basketball uniform? Well, according to Baylor (via The Big Lead):

The adidas adizero basketball uniform is the lightest uniform in program history - more than 20 percent lighter than previous uniforms. The uniforms are adidas' latest innovation to make athletes lighter so they can be faster and perform better on the court.

Building on Revolution 30 uniform technology, the jersey backs feature a ClimaCool zone which conducts heat away from the body through a combination of ventilation channels and materials that disperse heat for optimal moisture-wicking and breathability - keeping the jersey light even during sweating.

To help reduce overall weight, player names and numbers are bonded, rather than stitched to the jersey

So there you go. And here is what the aforementioned uniforms will look like:

When the Bears aren’t wearing their new jerseys they should do the charitable thing and give them to bicyclists who are want drivers to see them at night.
