The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 77-75 on Wednesday night. It was a heart-wrenching loss for a multitude of reasons, but the one that really hurts the most at the moment is the totally botched final play that officially cemented OKC’s victory. On that play, Metta World Peace was supposed to lob the ball crosscourt to a completely not open Kobe Bryant, but instead opted to get it to Steve Blake for a wide open corner three. It was the right play, even if it ultimately netted the wrong result.
Predictably, though, fans were quick to blame Blake for the miss. Even though Mike Brown and Bryant should clearly shoulder most of the blame for that whole mess, Blake got the brunt of the criticism for what transpired as fans selectively forgot that he has hit more clutch shots than Bryant has over the course of this postseason run.
And nothing epitomized the sort of criticism that Blake got better than this Wikipedia edit that was made right after the game ended. Check it out (via SB Nation):
If that’s not expert analysis, we don’t know what is.
Get off Wikipedia Magic Johnson, you're not slick.
