A lot of people question whether rivalries really exist in the NBA anymore. The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics seem to be on good terms. LeBron James and Kevin Durant are close friends. The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets periodically lob shots back and forth, but neither is good enough for that to matter.
So, yeah – you can’t blame folks for thinking that rivalries in the NBA are dead. Of course, people thinking that doesn’t mean it’s true.
The next time someone tells you that the Miami Heat and Celtics don’t hate one another, just go ahead and show them this picture of Rajon Rondo with some unnamed fan:
