Twitter is great for learning new information. If your business centers around being up on all the latest news, or you’re just a fan of knowing more about recent events than your friends, Twitter is a godsend. Unfortunately, like everything else, people sometimes have a tendency to misuse Twitter. The most common misuse for Twitter is folks oversharing, posting things that they think people care about when in reality nobody actually does.
Case in point: Buffalo Bills wide receiver David Clowney tweeting his HIV test results.
While it’s no doubt commendable to spread the message that everyone who’s had multiple sexual partners should get tested, posting the results on Twitter might be overkill. It might even be construed as blatant attention-whoring.
But, you know, to each his own.
