The Philadelphia Eagles tried to fib to the media and fans this week after QB Michael Vick busted two ribs in last Sunday’s loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Marty Mornhinweg in particular tried to say that he was “optimistic” that Vick would be able to play against the New York Giants.
The Eagles even stink at lying now.
Vick has been downgraded to out and will not play this week. Something anyone with half a brain already knew.
In related news, Jeremy Maclin has been dealing with injuries of his own. He has a bum shoulder and balky hamstring, and he has also been downgraded to out.
Vince Young will start at QB, while Riley Cooper will take Maclin’s first team reps at wide receiver. Expect a healthy dose of Steve Smith too.
