It appears to be all but a foregone conclusion that Jon Gruden will leave the Monday Night Football booth for a football coaching job. What remains unknown at this point in time, though, is where exactly he will go.
Over the past month, there has been rampant speculation regarding the 49-year-old’s next landing spot, with everyone from the Tennessee Vols to the Dallas Cowboys apparently being a viable option.
Where do the most recent rumors have Gruden heading? The Oakland Raiders, apparently.

Gruden’s ties to the Raiders are a matter of public record, but it’s a bit odd that he would opt to go with them when he supposedly has so many other offers on the table. And considering that there will probably more coaching vacancies this offseason than usual (which means, if you're a well-known coach, it's a seller's market), tying himself down to Oakland right now wouldn’t be the smartest of business moves even if he did ultimately want to land there.
We’ll see what happens, though. When you’re dealing with Gruden and the Raiders, anything is possible.
