NFL Rumors: Could Cedric Benson Land with Oakland Raiders?
Cedric Benson is currently coming off three straight solid seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals -- a period during which he regularly rushed for more than 1,000 yards. Now a free agent, the 29-year-old is looking to find a new home and hoping to show that he has something left in the tank.
The Oakland Raiders are rumored to be interested, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Benson had 1,067 yards and six touchdowns last year, along with about four yards per carry. The Raiders could definitely use him after losing Michael Bush, who signed with the Chicago Bears.
Although there is no chance of Benson starting over Darren McFadden, he could definitely play the role that Bush played last year. Plus, he'll provide Oakland with a bit of insurance in case McFadden were ever to get injured.
