Nebraska Cornhuskers Move Up in Coaches, AP Polls (Full Rankings)
Maybe the Nebraska Cornhuskers should just stop playing games.
Despite the fact that they had the week off, Bo Pelini’s Huskers, amazingly enough, moved up in both the USA Today Coaches and AP Polls. After coming in at No. 14 on both lists last week, Nebraska moved up to No. 11 and No. 13, respectively.
It’s worth noting that the charts have actually been very kind to the Huskers all season long. When they were racking up victories against the likes of Chattanooga, Fresno State, Washington, Wyoming and so on and so forth, they moved up generously. After they lost to Wisconsin in an undeniable thumping, they only fell seven slots from No. 7 to No. 14.
What does that mean? Well, it means that if Nebraska does what it needs to do -- keep winning games -- all the way through to the eventual conference championship, it may end up in a very favorable position.
With a week off in the books, the Huskers return to action on October 22 versus Minnesota.
Check out of the full Week 7 rankings for both the Coaches and AP Polls, and don’t forget to catch up on the midseason grades Opposing Views handed out.
