NBA Rumors: Is Kobe Bryant Getting Frustrated with the Lakers?

Kobe Bryant is running low on patience. On Wednesday night, his Los Angeles Lakers picked up their fourth loss in five tries. If you extend that out to the preseason, they have lost 12 of their last 13 games. This means that with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard and Steve Nash on the roster – L.A. has experienced an inexplicable, Charlotte Bobcats-like run of defeats.

Even if you take injuries into account, the Lakers have trotted out at least two of their Big Four for every game. Just two of them should be enough to beat all but five teams in the NBA

Kobe should be running low on patience.

The Lakers looked particularly pitiful last night – never actually leading at any point in the outing. They made a few runs, sure, but the Jazz ultimately held control throughout. The 95-86 finally tally isn’t indicative of how firmly Utah held its opposition in check from beginning to end.

Afterward, Kobe didn’t even try to hide his frustration. As reported by the Los Angeles Times:

Bryant was still seething as he sat in front of his locker, acknowledging he played with an anger and fire he hadn't displayed in a while.

"Just a little bit," he said, practically spitting out the words.

"Nothin' I care to share," he said.

Maybe it’s the fact that Pau Gasol was a nonfactor in this one. When it was all said and done, the big Spaniard finished with five points on two-of-nine shooting. Or maybe it was Steve Blake – six points (on two-of-10 shooting), four assists and only two-of-eight from behind the arc. Heck, it could have been the head coaching: those Jerry Sloan-for-Mike Brown rumors had to start somewhere.

Regardless of why he was agitated, though, there is no denying that Kobe was in fact agitated.

The Lakers have some interesting games coming up. Given some of the foes they have lost to thus far, there is no guarantee that they will be able to right this ship any time soon. Whatever is ailing this squad, they better figure it out. Fast.
