Marlon Maxey was the first pick... of the 2nd Round in the 1992 NBA Draft. The Timberwolves drafted him after three years in UTEP (preceded by a forgettable year at the University of Minnesota).
The power forward didn't play much in his only two years (both with Minnesota) in the league. He had decent numbers of 5.4 points and 3.8 boards in 12 minutes of play when he appeared in 43 games of his rookie campaign. In his second season, his production dipped a bit to 4.5 points and 3.6 boards in 11 minutes of play. He played 55 games and started two of them.
After those two years, he played overseas for the rest of his professional basketball career. He played in Spain, Greece, and Turkey. Maxey spent a total of five years playing in Greece. It seems that he retired from playing pro ball in 2001 as I can't find any more information about him beyond that.
Shoutout to Marlon Maxey from TNLP!
