MMA Ratings: Prelims Special For UFC 143 Drew 1.4 Million Viewers

In a release to MMAjunkie.com, the prelims special for UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit drew 1.4 million viewers, a drastic increase from the first special that aired on FX. UFC 143 took place this past Saturday night from Las Vegas, Nevada.

The prelims featured live fights between Dustin Poirier-Max Holloway, Edwin Figueroa-Alex Caceres, Matt Brown-Chris Cope, and Matt Riddle-Henry Martinez. The number of viewers was up 59 percent from UFC 142, which was watched by 880,000.

UFC 143's number places it 11th all-time in terms of live prelim specials to air, well behind UFC 126, which generated 2 million viewers in February of 2011.

The next live UFC card takes place Wednesday, Feb. 15 from Omaha, Nebraska, as UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger goes down.
