Parisyan and Menne will meet in a welterweight contest; Menne riding a two-fight winning streak and Parisyan a three-fight slump.
Having openly struggled with personal demons and waning motivation over the past few years, Karo Parisyan (19-8, 1 NC) has gone from being one of the UFC's most promising prospects to fighting for relevancy. Fighting his way out of the down period, Parisyan is looking to prove to the world that he's still one of the best when he puts it all together. Menne (45-16-2), the UFC's first middleweight champion, has fought sparingly in the past few years, but gave a solid account of himself in Bellator's 2009 welterweight tournament and has picked up two wins in two fights since.
Lightweight fighters Lyle Beerbohm and Jamie Varner are also slated to do battle, just shortly after Varner faces Drew Fickett this Friday.
After starting out his career with an impressive 16-0 run, the highly regarded Lyle "Fancy Pants" Beerbohm (16-2) dropped two straight contests, to Pat Healy and Shinya Aoki. He hasn't appeared in the cage since losing to Aoki in April of last year. Since washing out of the WEC on the heels of a 0-3-1 stretch, Jamie Varner (18-6-1, 1 NC) has gone 2-1. He returned from a brief retirement this year to knock out the unheralded Nate Jolly in October.
Worldwide MMA's first event is expected to take place on March 31 in El Paso, Texas, with no venue yet named.
