UFC on Fox 2: Evans vs. Davis went down Saturday night at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois featuring a preliminary card broadcast on Fuel TV and a triple-header main card shown on "big" Fox.
As usual, the UFC handed out bonuses for the evening's standout performances, with UFC president Dana White tweeting the evening's winners before the post-fight presser began; tonight's awards were given in the amount of $65,000.
Submission of the Night was awarded for the third time to debuting featherweight Charles Oliveira, who showed that his incredibly dynamic submission skills are just as threatening at 145-pounds as they were at lightweight. The 22-year-old put away UFC newcomer Eric Wisely in the first round with a painful-to-watch calf slicer, announcing his presence at 145 in the process.
Lavar Johnson rebounded from a two-fight losing streak in his UFC debut, picking up Knockout of the Night by beating down Joey Beltran -- known for his durability -- to earn a first round TKO victory.
Lightweight fighters Evan Dunham and Nik Lentz took home Fight of the Night honors for their entertaining two-round scrap, in which Dunham eventually overcame an aggressive Lentz, forcing a halt to the bout after the second round by opening a nasty cut under Lentz's left eye.
