Of course a fire broke out a Dodgers stadium. Why wouldn’t it? I mean, if there is one major league team that’s hot enough to burn down the joint, it’s without a doubt this one.
As Los Angeles Dodgers trailed 5-1 -- because, after all, they are the Dodgers -- at the top of the seventh inning on Saturday night, smoke began to rise by the towering light standards. The cause, apparently, was a small fire in the storage room that was taken care of as quickly as it started.
Needless to say, given the financial woes of team owner Frank McCourt, a few “burning down the stadium for insurance money” jokes will make the rounds on Sunday.
