“Middle Finger to All the Haters” Says Miami Heat’s House

Between LeBron James keeping mental notes on everyone who is taking shots at him and Dwyane Wade comparing the Heat losing few games to 9/11, the Miami Heat hasn't exactly been the poster children for handling criticism well.

New Heat bench warmer Eddie House isn’t doing anything to change that. 

While speaking to reporters last week, House sent out an unfortunate message to anyone who doubts the ESPN-appointed champions of basketball hype:

“I think, you know what, honestly, I don’t give a (expletive) about nobody else on the outside,” House said. “It doesn’t matter about anybody out there. I don’t care what their expectations are. We have our expectations and our goals. We are going to achieve them. That’s the bottom line.”

“So, at the end of the day, middle fingers to all the haters,” House said.

Maybe we’re a little old school here at The Daily Heat,but we really liked it in the good ol’ days, circa 2009, when players would shut up opposing fans by dropping 40 and 15 on their ass. You know, get people to stop criticizing you by taking away anything they could criticize you with.

Apparently, though, that’s not what the new-look Heat are about. They come from the new school of Twitter threats and media day boasting.

But hey, it’s not like the team is off to a rocky start with two out of their three “Kings” injured or anything. Nor are they led by a young and inexperienced head coach whose title with the team a mere four years ago was “Guy Who Brings Pat Riley His Chalk.” And finally, it’s not like one of their “Big Three” is missing pre-season games over baby-mama-drama in Chicago as this is being written.
