Injuries aside, Legacy FC president Mick Maynard was proud of his promotion in 2012 and hopes the luck continues.

"It's interesting because our year in many ways mirrored the UFC in terms of injuries," said Maynard. "We had a lot of injuries."

Maynard spoke about how several cards throughout the year had to be changed due to injury. One show in particular had seven or eight fighters pull out.

For next year, Maynard has more shows planned out of San Antonio, Dallas and Houston. Legacy FC is also planning to debut in Louisiana in the future. Maynard hopes that the increase in shows will mean better pay for his fighters.

"It was a really, really good year," said Maynard. "We did I think seven events and we're very busy and the whole experience will enable us to broaden out in 2013 and go to some different cities."

Legacy FC returns on February 1 from the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, TX. The main card will air on AXS TV.
