Sources tell Yahoo! Sports‘ Adrian Wojnarowski that the Denver Nuggets and New Jersey Nets are at it again. They are once again attempting to figure out a multi-team deal that would send Carmelo Anthony to the Nets.
The sources say that Anthony is inclined to accept a trade and sign an extension with New Jersey (instead of the Knicks) only if the Nets are able to bring in more talent to be with him in the deal. As of now, Al Harrington’s name is being floated.
“The way this is structured now, the Nets will significantly upgrade their team,” said one NBA executive involved in the talks.
“’Melo wants something similar to the Orlando deal, where he won’t have to go into New Jersey – or anywhere he’s going – without some help right away,” said one Western Conference executive.
Stay tuned on this one, things seem to be heating up. Anthony sure as hell doesn’t plan on staying in Denver, that much we know.
