With the Dallas Mavericks getting swept on Saturday night by the Oklahoma City Thunder (thanks to James Harden), their focus will now shift to improving the roster in the offseason via the draft and free agency.
On the bright side, the Mavs will have a lot of cap space for this summer to land top free agents Deron Williams and Dwight Howard.
Their No. 1 priority, however, has to be the Nets point guard.
What are their chances of nabbing his talents?
Writes the Daily Dime:
One source well-acquainted with Williams' thinking told ESPN.com this weekend that the Mavericks, in their current state, have no better than a "50-50 shot" of getting D-Will's signature in July ... despite the fact that the Nets aren't any closer to landing Howard than they are.
I honestly think Williams will end up staying and signing an extension with the Nets. The Nets also have a better chance of getting Howard as well.
