Mark Munoz Aims to Prove He's Ready for Anderson Silva by Beating Chris Weidman

Mark Munoz believes he is the next man to challenge UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Wednesday night, in the main event of UFC on Fuel TV: Munoz vs. Weidman, he will get the chance to prove just that against the undefeated Chris Weidman.

Munoz is returning from elbow surgery that forced him to the sidelines while he was on the cusp of reaching the next level. The elbow issue knocked him out of a planned No. 1 contender match with Chael Sonnen.

In Weidman, the former Oklahoma State University wrestling standout will be facing a man who has racked up eight wins in eight MMA matches.

"My pressure-game is unbelievable," said Munoz, in a recent interview with FightHub TV. "I'm going to be doing a lot of that. The keys to victory for him is to keep the distance and work for chokes. I know how he can win this fight and I know how I can win this fight; I'm going to force it where I'm good at and less where he's good at."

Munoz has already said that if he does defeat Weidman, he will call for a match with Silva, who he has trained with in the past.
