n a recent interview with the Grand Rapids Press, all time great Floyd “Money” Mayweather (42-0 with 26 KOs) was asked how much longer he would fight.
The initial part of his response was music to boxing purist fans’ ears “safe to say, probably fight this one (Cotto) plus five more." However, the second part of his response was nails on a chalkboard to those same fans: “And of course, I’m probably not looking to fight six strong champions. I’m a lot older now, you know what I’m saying?”
Mayweather at this stage of his career isn’t even disguising the fact that he is looking for low risk/high reward scenarios in regards to future fights. In the past he at least used smoke screens and hid behind a façade that he was a “people’s champion” who would fight whoever the people wanted him to fight only to avoid his greatest challenges by utilizing clever methods of doing so.
Now he is almost to the point where he is giving away his secrets ala a veteran magician divulging his amazing magic tricks after performing them for so many years.
