Magic Johnson Criticizes LeBron, Wade and Miami Heat’s “3 Kings”

When these NBA legends don’t like something, they really don’t like it.

Magic Johnson, arguably the greatest point guard in the history of the NBA, recently came out and offered his own opinion on LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh coming together with the Miami Heat this summer.

"We didn't think about it cause that's not what we were about," said Johnson, regarding coming together to play with Larry Bird. "From college, I was trying to figure out how to beat Larry Bird."

Johnson’s comments came during an interview at Baruch College in New York.

While there has been very little buzz amongst current NBA players regarding the highly-scrutinized decision by James to join Wade and Bosh in Miami, NBA legends haven’t kept as quiet.

Earlier in the week, Michael Jordan also commented on the new “Miami Thrice.”

"There's no way, with hindsight, I would've ever called up Larry, called up Magic and said, 'Hey, look, let's get together and play on one team,'" Jordan said after playing in a Nevada golf tournament. "But that's ... things are different. I can't say that's a bad thing. It's an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys."

Johnson and Jordan are not the only NBA legend to speak against the league’s best stars coming together in Miami. When the news broke originally, Charles Barkley had this to say to the Arizona Republic:

"Mike and I are in 100 percent agreement on this. If you're the two-time defending NBA MVP, you don't leave anywhere. They come to you. That's ridiculous. I like LeBron. He's a great player. But I don't think in the history of sports you can find a two-time defending MVP leaving to go play with other people."

The new “Big Three” are officially 0-for-3 on NBA legend endorsements.

You have to wonder, though, if they win five straight titles and set all-kinds of NBA records, will anyone really care that Johnson, Jordan and Barkley disapproved of this team coming together in the summer of 2010?
