Ryan Bader is a fantastic fighter and has a bright future in the UFC, but nobody thought he was in Lyoto Machida’s league coming in their UFC on FOX 4 showdown. The basis for that general consensus was more or less reaffirmed the second that their match began, with Machida essentially doing whatever he wanted from the getgo.
Eventually, after frustrating Bader for a round and change, Machida watched his opponent fall into the trap and launch an ill-timed attack – and attack that he easily countered and ended with a ridiculous right which floored Bader for good.
End result? Machida via KO in an effort that earned him a shot at the winner of September’s Jon Jones versus Dan Henderson showdown.
