Louisville Football: Teko Powell, Brandon Snell Commit

Publish date:

Louisville basketball has dominated most of the talk the past several weeks, but today, Charlie Strong’s football program got in the act.

Clint Hurtt, the reigning ESPN National Recruiter of the Year, landed two more prospects from south Florida in defensive tackle Teko Powell and receiver Brandon Snell. Both are from Miami Norland high school and two of the best players in the area.

Powell, 6-2 and 260 lbs, is projected to be a force on the defensive line. While currently an unranked prospect, most feel he will be at least a three-star recruit the more he gets evaluated. Powell picked Louisville over impressive offers from Alabama, Florida, and Florida State. Brandon Snell, who is cousins with UofL QB Teddy Bridgewater, is 5-11 and 175 lbs and is described as a dynamic playmaker. He chose the Cards over offers from Vanderbilt and Rutgers, amongst others.

Louisville now has four commitments from the 2012 class. Powell and Snell join linebacker Larry Jefferson and offensive lineman ‘Psycho’ Sid Anvoots on the UofL commit list.
