Little League Coach Sues Own Player (Video)

Alan Beck, a chiropractor and little league coach in Lakeside, Calif., is suing one of his own players.

Beck claims that a 14-year-old player threw a baseball helmet in the air after scoring a run that won a game (video below).

Beck's lawsuit states the player "carelessly threw a helmet, striking Plaintiff's Achilles tendon and tearing it."

He is now suing the teen player's family for $500,000 in pain and suffering, plus $100,000 in legal bills.

"At first I thought it was joke," Joe Paris, the player's father, told UPI. "Now, I think it's absurd. I've already spent over $4,000 and we haven't even been in a courtroom yet."

"There's a good chance that whoever responds to this lawsuit will be able to get it dismissed," legal expert Bill Portanova told KCRA. "[Beck] willfully signed onto potential contact because baseball is a contact sport."
