Kerri Walsh Jennings was Pregnant During Olympic Run

Kerri Walsh Jennings winning her third Olympic gold medal at this year’s Olympics was impressive. Her doing it while being secretly pregnant is mind-blowing.

On Monday, in a special interview with TODAY, Walsh Jennings let the world in on a pretty ridiculous secret: she was five weeks pregnant when she was dominating her beach volleyball opposition in London.

“When I was throwing my body around fearlessly, and going for gold for our country, I was pregnant, and today I’m 11 weeks pregnant,” Walsh Jennings told Matt Lauer.

Walsh told Today that she felt “moody and touchy” while she was competing for the gold, but that she chalked it up to the stress of competition.

"You're probably pregnant," her beach volleyball partner, Misty May-Treanor, apparently hypothesized at the time.

Impressive guess.

"It's just so exciting," Walsh Jennings told TODAY.com.

During the 2012 Games, Walsh Jennings and May-Treanor became the first women’s beach volleyball tandem to win three golds in a row. And despite the fact that her partner in crime has hung up her bikini, Walsh-Jennings still has some unfinished business on her plate: a fourth gold.

"I want it," she said of a fourth gold. "I feel like I have so much more to learn, so much more to accomplish. I'm planning on coming back stronger and smarter."
