Kaepernicking Craze Officially Replaces Tebowing as the Dumbest NFL Celebration Ever

Colin Kaepernick was amazing this past Saturday. Because of his ability to make plays with his arm and his feet, the former Nevada (thanks, Chuck) star was able to lead his San Francisco 49ers to a dominant 45-31 victory over a very formidable foe in the Green Bay Packers.

When it was all said and done, Kaepernick finished with this tremendous stat line: 263 yards and two touchdowns on 17-of-31 passing; 181 yards and two touchdowns on 16 rushing attempts. That’s right – he combined for 444 yards and four touchdowns on the day.

Again, he was amazing. There is no denying that.

Unfortunately, all of the good things he did for his team and fan base were ultimately negated by the stupid trend he ushered in. Remember Tebowing? The little fake prayer thing that Tim Tebow used to do on the rare occasions when he actually made into the end zone? Well, Kaepernicking, a new Colin Kaepernick-inspired craze, is like that, only it involves kissing one’s bicep after scoring a touchdown.

Much like Tebowing, the idea of kissing one’s bicep is neither special nor original. There is really no reason for it to become a cultural phenomenon at all. Similarly, aside from being a pretty good indicator that your parents should disown you, it serves no legitimate purpose. That being said – what do you want to bet that half of ESPN’s NFL TV crew will participate in Kaepernicking at least once over the next week? Maybe more if the Niners get past the Atlanta Falcons this weekend.

Just in case you're wondering how to stay up to date on the latest embarrassing NFL trends, here you go:
