Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson Possibly Headed for UFC 149?
Jon Jones just defended his UFC light heavyweight title last weekend in a five round battle against Rashad Evans, but his next date in the cage is already being worked out.
UFC president Dana White revealed at yesterday's press conference held to announce the shuffle of Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen 2 from UFC 147 to UFC 148 that he and his crew are working on putting together Jones vs. Dan Henderson for the UFC 149 fight card in Calgary.
"Dan Henderson and Jon Jones could be a possibility," said White. "Jones just fought his first five round fight, his hands are sore, all the things that go along with coming out of a fight like that. We've got to give him a few weeks to see how he feels, then we'll figure out what the main event is going to be in Calgary. But that would be awesome. If we could make that fight, that would be great."
Jose Aldo was being linked to the event, but White indicated that the featherweight champion may end up on the UFC 147 fight card to fill Anderson Silva's spot.
UFC 149, which is scheduled for July 21 at the Scotiabank Saddledome, will be the promotion's first event held in Calgary.
