Jon Fitch vs. Demian Maia Set for UFC 156
According to a report by UFC Brazil, welterweights Jon Fitch and Demian Maia are set to square off at UFC 156: Aldo Vs. Edgar. The card goes down February 2 from Las Vegas.
UFC 156 features a UFC featherweight title match between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar. A rumored co-main event between heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Antonio Silva has yet to be made official.
Fitch (24-4-1) earned his first victory since 2010 when he scored a decision over Erick Silva in Brazil earlier this year. The former contender has gone 6-1-1 in his last eight.
Maia (17-4) is 2-0 since dropping to welterweight. The one-time middleweight title contender has posted a 5-2 mark in his last seven.
