Joe Montana’s Son Transfers

Joe Montana’s son, Nick, will transfer from Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. to Tulane University. This is the former Oaks Christian product’s second stint in the big leagues of college football.

When he initially came out of high school, Montana spent six games as a redshirt freshman at the University of Washington. Rather than staying on the bench, though, he decided to transfer to Mount San Antonio and learn his craft firsthand.

This past year, he threw for 2,652 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Now, with a lot of valuable experience under his belt, Montana will compete for Tulane’s starting quarterback spot. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

According to USA Today, Tulane coach Curtis Johnson put a heavy emphasis on bringing Nick into the fold. All parties involved seem to view this as a good fit.

Nick’s father, Joe Montana, is an NFL Hall of Famer who is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time.
