Jim Miller: Joe Lauzon is One of the Toughest Guys in the World

Jim Miller bloodied Joe Lauzon early, but could not put him away at UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II Saturday night. In the end, though, Miller did enough to secure the decision victory.

"Joe is one of the toughest guys in the world," Miller said. "I knew I was going to have to give him everything I had to put him away."

Miller caught Lauzon in the first, opening a cut on his forehead that caused blood to pour down the face. However, Lauzon rebounded, attempting several submissions, including one as the clock expired.

Lauzon flew in for a heel-hook/ankle-lock submission, and Miller admitted it was "pretty close" to being locked in.

Miller (22-4) also said that he didn't want the doctor to call the fight due to the blood or cut, adding, "the three people inside the Octagon should be the ones to decide the winner."

After three lackluster middleweight bouts in terms of excitement, Lauzon-Miller brought the MGM Grand Garden Arena crowd to their feet and more.

Lauzon is now 22-8 in his career, and likely to add more fight night bonuses to his total.
