Jerry Jones Offers His Wife's First Class Seat To London To Tony Romo

Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones offered his wife’s first class seat to London, to his injured quarterback, Tony Romo. The Cowboys play the Jacksonville Jaguars next Sunday at Wembley Stadium in London.

Romo, who has two fractures in the transverse process in his back, missed last Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, which they lost 28-17 at home, with a struggling Brandon Weeden at QB.

It seems as though Romo will make the trip to London, and might even get to sit next to Jones in first class, at his wife Gene’s expense.

“Some of those seats really make out into a nice cot, bed-type configuration,’’ Jones told the Dallas Morning News. “He will get one of those. Gene will sit up in the bulkhead. Romo will lounge on the way over. You don’t think it’d be me, do you?’’

Surely, Jones is joking… Well either way, Cowboy fans should be happy that he is making the trip.

“The proof of the pudding is we certainly wouldn’t put him on that plane and take him to London and fly over and fly back if we weren’t planning on him playing,’’ Jones said.

The Cowboys could really use Romo behind center. After losing the first game of the season, the Cowboys went on to win six straight, including a commanding win over defending super bowl champions, Seattle Seahawks, in Seattle. But the Cowboys have suffered two straight losses now and have fallen to second place in the NFC East, behind the Philadelphia Eagles.

In eight starts this week, Romo has accumulated 1,998 yards, 15 touchdowns, six interceptions and is completing 68.2% of his passes. He ranks fifth in the NFL with a 103.6 QB rating.

Romo injured his back in the third quarter of the Washington Redskins’ game two weeks ago. He then returned in the fourth quarter, but was unable to get the Cowboys the win in overtime. Coming back in that fourth quarter might have hurt Romo even more. With the Cowboys having a bye week after the London game, Romo could have three weeks off if he sat this one out. But apparently Jones thinks it’s so important for Romo to start, that he is making his wife sit in economy class with everyone else, or is he?
