Jeff Gordon Annoyed With Jimmie Johnson

Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were involved in another tangle-up during the Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway.  It was the second-straight race the two drivers were rubbing each other’s Chevrolet’s together and it now seems to be rubbing Gordon the wrong way.

“The 48 is testing my patience, I can tell you that,” said Gordon. “It takes a lot to make me mad. I am [mad] right now. I don’t know what it is with me and him right now.”

Gordon believes Johnson squeezed him down the track late in the race, triggering the crash.  Gordon was taken out of contention and finished 22nd.  Johnson continued racing, but was sent into the inside retaining wall after drifting into Greg Biffle’s lane without asking permission.  Johnson finished 31st.

Last week Gordon and Johnson weren’t playing nice either.  With 94 laps to go at Texas Motor Speedway the two drivers crossed paths when their cars came off Turn 4. Gordon got under Johnson after tapping his bumper, forcing Johnson up the track.

As Gordon was going by, Johnson veered to the left and slammed into Gordon’s door panel. The collision caused Johnson’s fender to rub into his left front tire, eventually cutting the tire.

Gordon said he was “disappointed” with Johnson, claiming “He must want to be treated different from everybody else.”

Johnson was also upset.

“I’m equally disappointed in him,” Johnson responded.  “At one point he was just on my bumper, pushing me through [the] corner. I was saying, ‘Man, just get off my ass so I can accelerate.’”

Seriously, Jeff, just get off his ass, so he can accelerate.
