Jay Gruden to Cardinals or Eagles, Marc Trestman to Browns and More NFL Coaching Rumors

Between Andy Reid getting hired by the Kansas City Chiefs and Chip Kelly spurning the pros once again, things are beginning to fall into place on the NFL head coaching front.

As it stands, the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears are still without a date to the prom, and it remains to be seen whether they will even be able to lure in a top-tier coach at this stage in the game -- especially with two of the biggest names off the market.

Here is the latest on the NFL coaching rumors front:

“The Arizona Cardinals expect to speak in the coming week with Jay Gruden about their vacant head coaching position.” [ESPN]

“The Philadelphia Eagles also are expected to request permission from the Bengals on Monday to interview Gruden for their vacant head coaching job, league sources told ESPN.” [ESPN]

Bears told their nearly dozen HC candidates they plan to bring two finalists to Halas Hall this week for second round of interviews.

“The Browns' head coach hunt takes them to Chicago on Monday to interview Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman, according to a source with knowledge of their coaching search.” [ESPN]

If the Buffalo Bills randomly hiring Doug Marrone was any indication, we are about to see some interesting names filling these vacancies.
