Jake Ellenberger Offers His Georges St-Pierre vs. Carlos Condit Prediction
Jake Ellenberger (28-6) is familiar with Carlos Condit (28-5), having lost to him in a split decision in his UFC debut. Georges St-Pierre (22-2) not as much, but the former middleweight still gives the nod to the champion when those two meet.
"It's hard to prove against GSP," said Ellenberger to TATAME. "He has been so dominant for so long, but he comes from a long period without a fight. Carlos Condit is a great fighter. It's hard to stay on top. Everyone wants to reach the top, but I think it's very difficult to stay on top."
Condit will look to be the third person to ever defeat the current welterweight champion. St-Pierre who is 17-2 inside the Octagon will make his long awaited return to unify the two championships. Condit currently holds the interim title after St-Pierre had to have surgery for an ACL injury to his knee that kept him away from competition for over a year and a half.
Ellenberger looks at the fight and thinks St-Pierre will dictate the pace, which means it will go to a decision. St-Pierre's last four fights went the full five rounds where the champion took home the decision in each contest.
Earlier this month, Ellenberger defeated Jay Hieron (23-6) to gain some revenge against the fighter who handed him his first loss. His next fight is unknown.
St-Pierre vs. Condit headlines UFC 154 from Canada on November 17.
