Ivan Menjivar vs. Mike Easton Going Down at UFC 148
UFC officials have wasted little time in announcing Ivan Menjivar's new opponent for UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II, as Mike Easton will step in. Menjivar was originally scheduled to face Renan Barao, but Barao was promoted to a bout with Urijah Faber for the interim UFC bantamweight title.
Menjivar (24-8) is 3-1 since joining the UFC, and was right up there with Barao and Michael McDonald as possible opponents for Faber with Dominick Cruz going down due to a knee injury.
Easton (12-1) is on a five-fight win streak, including two consecutive victories in the UFC. The Menjivar-Easton bout will likely be part of the night's prelim card.
