An Indian soccer play died in a tragic and completely unexpected accident on Sunday.
Peter Biaksangzuala, 23, fatally injured himself while celebrating a goal in the 61st minute of a game between Bethlehem Vengthlang FC and Chanmari West FC.
Biaksangzuala injured himself while attempting the flip celebration made famous by Germany’s Miroslav Klose.

Biaksangzuala was taken to a hospital following the injury and was pronounced dead on Sunday. Mizram Premier League official Lal Hmar told reporters the league is shocked by the death.
“Peter was a very talented player who dreamt of playing in the national league,” Hmar said, according to Adelaide Now. “His death has come as a big shock to all of us. We all thought he will recover.”
The tragedy is the first recorded instance of a soccer player’s celebration resulting in death.
