It appears that whole notion of “The ‘Three Kings’ will surpass the Chicago Bulls' 72-10 wins” campaign can officially be put to rest.
They won’t set an all-time wins record. They won’t hop, skip and jump their way to an NBA title. Heck, they may not even make it to the NBA Finals considering the tough match-ups the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks present for them.
The first indication that something was really wrong with this Miami unit came after their latest humiliating defeat at the hands of the Celtics. High off the win over his clearly overrated opponents, Celtics forward Paul Pierce took the following jab at LeBron James on his Twitter account:
“It’s been a pleasure to bring my talents to South Beach now on to Memphis,” he tweeted.
With Pierce not exactly exemplifying modesty, fans and spectators alike could at least count on James to take the high road. He would be the moral compass for everyone and take responsibility for the troubles that his team has faced up to this point, right?
Not so much.
