Giants' Guillermo Mota Gets 100-Game Ban for PEDs
San Francisco Giants pitcher Guillermo Mota received a 100-game ban from the MLB after he tested positive for performance-enhancing substances, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Mota tested positive before back in 2006 for the same thing, receiving a 50-game ban at the time. With the second offense, he will now have to serve an additional 50 as a part of the league rules.
"The Giants are disappointed to learn of Guillermo Mota's suspension," the team said in a statement. "We support Major League Baseball's drug prevention and treatment program."
The 38-year-old has spent 14 seasons in the league. He had a 5.06 ERA along with a 0-1 record so far this year.
