Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao: Press Conference Set For March 11

For the first and only time until the long-awaited fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather May 2, the two will meet face-to-face in a press conference in Los Angeles to promote the fight that will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The press conference is set for March 11, and that will be the last time the two will appear together until the week of the fight—a main event that will be a historic joint pay-per-view between Showtime and HBO. Most people expect the fight to shatter office records for any boxing match. It features an undefeated Mayweather (47-0), including 26 knockouts, and Pacquiao (57-5-2) who has won by knockout 38 times.

The fight was finalized Feb. 20, after it had been in the works for five-plus years. Because the deal came together later than any usual fight would, they have decided to forgo the cross-country media tour to promote the fight and limit it to two press conferences: March 11 in Los Angeles and another one in Las Vegas a few days before the fight. The press conference is closed to media members only, and even they will need credentials; most of these types of press conferences are open to the public in order to promote it more. With the caliber of fight though, these two boxers do not need any extra promotion. The fight itself will be enough to get fans excited.

The contract was so clear that it limited the fighters to only hold two press conferences before the much-anticipated fight.
