A wild fight broke out between fans and high school players during the first quarter of the Griffith Panthers and Hammond Wildcats basketball game in Indiana on Saturday night.
The Panthers' Anthony Murphy was fouled by Wildcats' Tim Echoles, which caused Murphy to run into a padded wall, noted the NWI Times.
Players and fans quickly took to the floor and started fighting, despite a game announcer's pleas not to do so (video below).
The game was canceled in the first quarter by officials; Griffith police had to be called to stop the brawl.
"You can't take a shot at a kid like that," Panthers' coach Gary Hayes told the NWI TImes. "Somebody's going to get hurt real bad."
"When you have adults coming onto the floor it's an unfortunate situation," added Wildcats' coach Larry Moore Jr. "I'm just concerned getting my kids onto our bus safely."
Police are reviewing video of the incident to try to ID the adults who could be charged, reports Uproxx.com.
