Eduardo Dantas Lost to Tyson Nam Because He "Wasn't Cautious Enough"

Eduardo Dantas' (14-3) loss to Tyson Nam (12-4) may have been because he wasn't cautious enough, according to his head coach Andre Pederneiras. Despite the loss, Dantas will readjust for future fights.

"He was careless, he went there to finish the fight like he always does and did not care about defending himself and sometimes the other guy lands a hand on you like it happened," said Pederneiras to TATAME. "It happens. He's gonna worry first on defending himself and then attacking."

Dantas was scheduled to defend his newly won Bellator Bantamweight Championship for the first time against Marcos Galvão in November. It is not known if that fight will be pushed to another date.

"I don't know what comes next after Dudu was knocked out," said Pederneiras. "There's the suspension but the fight will happen. One is the tournament champ and the other is the show's champ, so it's gotta happen. They knew it was coming and there's no other way. Most fighters in our team fight in this division, so we let them know it can happen and it will happen now."
