It's been a time of upheaval in MMA recently, with several fighters parting ways with their longtime coaches and managers.
Josh Koscheck has left the American Kickboxing Academy, Junior dos Santos has parted ways with Ed Soares, Michael Bisping is no longer a part of Wolf's Lair, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua has discontinued the services of Eduardo Alonso and Jose Aldo has also shed Ed Soares from his entourage, lessening his championship stable by two.
Some of the fighters above have elected to speak openly about their reasons for getting rid of their management, and some have chosen to keep those business-related matters behind the scenes. Though Jose Aldo is one of those fighters who has stayed quiet, Ed Soares recently offered some insight into the disintegration of their partnership while speaking with MMAFighting.
"It wasn't really much of anything, other than his coach, who used to be his manager, felt like he didn't need our services. It pretty much was one of those things," said Soares.
"It was really strange the way it all went down. His coach sent us an e-mail and that was it."
