MMA Analysis: Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone to Make UFC Return?

When the UFC machine decided to digest the WEC roster, a lot of people wondered who would excel and who might not be ready for prime time.  Most felt that Donald Cerrone would have little trouble in making himself at home in the Octagon, and he’ll be looking to win his second consecutive fight in the UFC this Saturday night in Vancouver, BC against Vagner Rocha.

For those who are not familiar with Rocha, he’s a durable Brazilian who enters the fight with a respectable (6-1) record but could be in for more than he can handle in a debut against an aggressive striker and talented grappler like Cerrone.   Vagner of course comes in as a replacement for the injured Mac Danzig who was supposed to fight Cerrone to culminate what had become a very heated feud.

Cerrone debuted in the UFC with a victory over Paul Taylor at UFC 126 via Rear Naked Choke but will likely be looking to keep this fight standing against Rocha, a Jiu Jitsu black belt.  If you’re wondering if Donald is upset Mac’s out, he seems to be taking it stride saying, “Right now, I’m just taking it fight by fight. There are so many top fights out there right now that I’m content with fighting the next guy the UFC wants me to fight.”

Long known for his Tapout cowboy hat, Donald is also being sponsored by Revgear now, and he was pretty happy about deal, having this to say, “Revgear makes my job as a fighter much easier. Their products are top-notch, and to be able to train with a product that holds up under our training regimen is huge! I would recommend Revgear for anyone serious about their training.”

“Cowboy” Cerrone will be looking to impress all of his sponsors, fans and those in attendance as he takes on Vagner Rocha Saturday night.
