Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber Set for UFC 148
The UFC announced yesterday that the highly-anticipated Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen rematch has been moved from the main event of UFC 147 in Brazil to the main event of UFC 148 in Las Vegas.
The blockbuster match up will supplant Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber 3 as the UFC 148 main event, but will not push the rubber match off the card. The UFC announced along with the Silva-Sonnen 2 news that Cruz-Faber 3 will now serve as the co-main event of UFC 148
Cruz and Faber are currently acting as coaches on the revamped season of The Ultimate Fighter and will meet in the cage to do battle upon the show's conclusion. The two have split their previous meetings, with Faber defeating Cruz once via submission and Cruz beating Faber by close unanimous decision.
UFC 148 is scheduled to take place on July 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
