Does Dan Henderson Have What it Takes to Beat Jon Jones? Dana White Thinks So

Dan Henderson's one remaining career goal is to become a UFC champion. On September 1, Henderson will receive his shot at doing so when he meets Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title at UFC 151: Jones Vs. Henderson.

After Lyoto Machida recently became the No. 1 contender, many people have already started discussing a future rematch between Jones and Machida. Well, UFC president Dana White believes those people should stop overlooking Henderson as a possibility to dethrone Jones.

"That's crazy. In no way, shape or form am I discounting Henderson winning this fight," White told FightLine following the post-fight press conference Saturday night.

"Henderson can win this fight. He has knockout power in both hands, great wrestling, a good chin and he's not afraid to mix it up with anybody. He will go until he either gets stopped or stops Jones. This is not a gimmie fight, not even close."

Henderson earned a monumental career victory in Strikeforce over former heavyweight king Fedor Emelianenko. He defeated Mauricio "Shogun" Rua upon returning to the UFC, and has waited patiently for his shot at Jones.
