Did Bellator Know About Dan McGuane's Manslaughter Charge?

An involuntary manslaughter conviction from five years ago came back to haunt Dan McGuane (3-0) as he planned to fight on his biggest stage to date for Bellator. When news broke about his past arrest and time spent behind bars, someone created a site called, BanDanMcGuane.com. Bellator released the fighter after the news became public. McGuane said his "heart just sank" was he was released.

McGuane was taken aback when Bellator released him, since he said he was upfront with them about his past. He believes when the website went up his fate was sealed.

"I'm always honest about it," said McGuane to MMA Junkie. "I let everybody know even before I go to a gym or start training with somebody new, because I don't want them to be uncomfortable with it."

McGuane isn't sure if his future will involve MMA going forward.
