Devin Cole is Looking to Make a Statement at WSOF 1

Devin Cole (20-9-1) sees competing for the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) as his chance to get back on track after his 2008 arrest. He was charged with several felony sex crimes, but was only convicted of a misdemeanor and spent 60 days behind bars. Four years later and Cole is having trouble shaking that event off.

Recently, Cole was set to make his UFC debut against Travis Browne (13-1-1) at UFC on FX 5. The UFC chose not to go with Cole citing his prior arrest. Cole remained optimistic, despite the setback.

"It's hard to stay positive, but I really believe that if it's going to happen, it's going to happen," said Cole on MMA Weekly Radio. "I've just got to keep working, and if it doesn't happen, then it wasn't meant to be."

Cole currently has a two fight win streak coming out of Strikeforce, but he was not offered a new contract when the UFC absorbed the heavyweight division.

Now, in the first main event for the WSOF, Cole takes on Andrei Arlovski (17-9-1 NC). Arlovski is a former heavyweight champion for the UFC.

"This is going to get me to that point where I have people talking about me and will be able to be in the limelight," said Cole. "I think it's my time, and now I need to step up and prove it."

WSOF debuts November 3 on the NBC Sports Network.
