Denver Nuggets Making Ty Lawson a Priority this Summer?

Ty Lawson guided the Denver Nuggets to a great seven-game series against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round. That might have earned him some big bucks this off-season.

Lawson averaged 19 points and six assists per game against a formidable Lakers defense in the series. He is now emerging as one of the better young point guards in the NBA.

Lawson really wants to stay in Denver long term.

"It's definitely a goal. I want to be here long term. I'm pretty sure my agent and Masai Ujiri will talk this summer," Lawson told The Denver Post.

"He's going to be a big part of the Denver Nuggets. We're excited. Ty is going to grow even more. He made a little jump, and he'll continue to make jumps as he gets older," said Ujiri, the team's executive vice president of basketball operations.

Lawson looks like a future star in the making. His explosive scoring style jolted the Nuggets offense in obvious ways against the Lakers.

It looks like Ujiri and all of the Nuggets executives will be busy this summer locking up all of their young talent, led by Lawson and JaVale McGee.

As long as Lawson gets taken care of, exciting times are coming to the Mile High City.
