Dana White Says Chael Sonnen and Dan Henderson are the "Exact Same Guys"

Dana White has been an outspoken critic of Jon Jones for not taking a replacement fight at UFC 151 following a last minute injury by opponent Dan Henderson. Among his biggest reasons for taking the fight is the similarity between Hendo and potential replacement Chael Sonnen. The UFC President caught up with ESPN to explain why taking the fight should have been a no brainer for Jones.

"Other than him (Sonnen) being a southpaw, they're the exact same guys. They come out of the same camp. They've been training together their entire career. The difference between a guy like Chael Sonnen is Chael Sonnen is a wrestler. He doesn't even hit as hard as Dan Henderson. The only thing he's changing is his stance," said an infuriated White.

Another factor is Sonnen's weight as he would be moving up from middleweight after two failed title attempts against Anderson Silva. While White may be underselling Sonnen, the UFC President feels that Jones' should be comfortable taking on any opponent given his dominance in the division.

"If you are the champion and you're the pound for pound one of the best in the world, you should be ready to fight all comers. It's never happened in the history of the sport," said White.

Despite the protesting, no one can force "Bones" to take the bout. The UFC has had to scrap the card and reschedule Jones' defense against Vitor Belfort at UFC 152 on September 22.
